My first week at Animation Mentor is over, and I’ve been looking through loads of online videos telling me about the course, how Maya works, about workflows and how much animators LOVE animation! I’m in a class with 16 students from countries like Ireland, Australia, Colombia, Turkey, South Africa, Finland++. My mentor this term (12 weeks) is Eric Lessard who has worked at PDI/DreamWorks with movies like Shrek, Antz and Madagascar! My class and mentor have a live Q&A session every week on tuesday where we can see each other on webcam and ask questions about the assignments and get help and inspiration.

Through this course I will learn how to be a character animator, with the 3D software Maya. We will use different characters provided by the school, and one of them looks like this:

I’m very excited to be a student at AM, and I can’t wait to become an animating ninja!!!!!
